All Gentlemen may enter the Summer League including those with lapsed CONGU handicaps.
The Summer League can be played any day on which there is no club competition. It will consist of three sections:
- Section 1 – Handicap up to 9
- Section 2 – Handicap 10 – 16
- Section 3 – Handicap 17 – 28
Members will remain in the section they are placed on joining the league, regardless of handicap adjustments.
Joining Fee - £5
Weekly Entry - £2 (£1 for Sweep, £1 for Magic 2s)
Fees to be paid at the Pro Shop. Play from Yellow Tees
- Players will have a Summer League Handicap – handicap reduction will be a ½ stroke for every stroke under SSS of 66.
- No Handicap increases.
- Although the player’s current handicap will be displayed on the previous week’s eclectic sheet, it is the player’s responsibility to check that this is correct and normal golf rules will apply for incorrect scores etc.
- Although Summer League Rounds are not classed as QUALIFYING for CONGU Handicap purposes, Clause 19 will be applied (General Play).
Weekly prizes awarded to the best net scores in each section.
The lowest net score each week will qualify for the J. D. Findlay Rose Bowl Play-off.
At the conclusion of the summer league, prizes will be awarded in each section to the players with the lowest eclectic scores.
The Finances of the league will be handled by Ernie Robertson, and all competitions and handicaps administered by D D Smith. All decisions made by this committee will be deemed final!
Please note – Eclectic Scores must be circled on the player’s card (apart from 1st card submitted). All competed cards should be put in the Summer League Box in the Hallway.
