An update from the Committee:
Following yesterday’s announcement from First Minister, Nicola Surgeon, we are absolutely delighted to confirm that golf can return from Friday 29th May 2020, subject to final confirmation from the Scottish Government by way of an update currently planned for Thursday 28th May 2020. Following that announcement we will issue a further update if there are any further changes required to the opening plan below.
Scottish Golf have now released their detailed guidance for Clubs and golfers to return to golf and we are reviewing the information in regard to our guidance policy which has been prepared in advance of the announcement.
The purpose of the guidance document is to provide practical advice and guidance to members with a view to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all golfers and members of staff alike.
Over the first two weeks, the golf course will be open for members only and this may be subject to extension. The booking system will be available to book up to 3 days in advance and to begin with the Club are limiting play to two balls (two members, not two ball foursomes), at 10 minute intervals.
All members must book their tee times through the BRS system. Members can access the BRS booking system via the Club website or via the BRS or Club members app. Members are not allowed to come to the Club unless they have an official tee time reserved in advance. When booking a tee time, please ensure that you input the name of your playing partner.
Members will be able to reserve tee times for Friday 29th May from 7.00pm on Tuesday 26 May. Tee time reservations will be available as follows:
Monday to Sunday 8.00am - 7.30pm
Scottish Golf would like to highlight that the Scottish Government continues to monitor its response to the COVID-19 outbreak closely and have not ruled out the re-introduction of restrcitions which could see golf paused again if the guidelines are not being followed. Therefore when arriving at the Club please observe social distancing at all times.
Please note that in this initial first phase of opening, the Clubhouse including the locker rooms and toilet facilities will remain closed as will the on-course toilets. Bunker rakes will be removed so please smooth bunkers with feet and clubs. Scorecards will be available from under the porch, adjacent to the Pro Shop. Volunteer course marshals will be on hand to ensure social distancing and that play adheres to the booked times. These volunteers have given up their time to help the Club. Please treat them with respect.
Thank you very much for your patience during this time and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Club. The Committee
