Please find attached above, the Auchterarder Golf Club Annual General Meeting Pack for the 2026 season.

A Message from the Captain:

Within the attached pack you will be able to read summary reports of our performance over the past business year from our Managing Secretary and Honorary Treasurer.

At the start of this season, the weather was cold and wet causing a reduction in visitor income and the associated bar income, however, in the later season we were able to make up some of this shortfall but as you will be aware inflationary pressures on our cost base have cut the operating surplus generated. The Committee is mindful of financial pressures on our membership and on our position as a community club and so we are proposing to keep the rise in membership subs as small as we can without compromising the standards of the course. Therefore, the proposed increase in the headline membership subscription is 3.8%, with an average of 4% over all membership categories.

I would like to highlight two items in the AGM pack.

Firstly, the Committee undertook a review of our visitor policy.  The pack includes a paper showing financial data from the accounts produced by our external accountants and golf data from the BRS system.  In the last two years green fee income from visitors covered 36% of the club’s total costs, showing how important visitor income is to the financial security of the club.  The paper also lists various actions that the committee will trial to help improve both the visitor and member experience.

Secondly, item 8 on the agenda.  You will be aware that the last year or so has been one of flux within the committee with four resignations.  The key positions of Green’s Convenor and Junior Convenor were filled and Co-opted over the summer and we are very grateful to John Grant and Mike Thompson for volunteering their time.  In order to retain the experience within the committee we seek your approval to suspend the requirement under the Constitution for two committee members to be rotated off for this year.

Subject to AGM approval, the Committee is almost back to full strength, but we are still very keen to speak to any member who feels that they are able to give their time and expertise to support the club.  Please feel free to contact me.

If you wish to raise matters at the AGM under AOCB, we ask that these issues are submitted in writing to: feedback@auchterardergolf.co.uk no later than Monday 9th November, so that any work/ research can be done in advance of the meeting.

Finally, I would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend this year’s AGM, to support your Club and the Committee.

I look forward to seeing you on 23rd November.
